Bubbles with Chloe

Meet Miss M she is all ready for one very hot summer here in Australia.
Her out fit is from Rebecca Page
and

The Chloe Cami is very flowy, for this one I used two different linen blends
the linen gives it a bit of structure, I think my next one will be rayon so it's even more flowy

The back comes with a few options, I particularly liked the double strap with the cross over. I used the fabric from the underneath layer for the crossover and the standard straps were the same as the top fabric

The Berry Bubbles shorts have some really cool features like the button up front, I used kam snaps. It has a very flattering flat front and an elasticised waist. I am not generally a fan of elasticised waists for adult clothing but I have been really happy with the shape that Rebecca Page have achieved with elasticised waists. I did hack the pattern a little by altering the pockets, the original pattern had jean style pockets but I prefer the ease of inseam pockets

Miss M and I tucked up the top into the back to show her cute little shorts even more and it made me think this shape would make such a cute crop top, maybe a hack for me in the future.

Anyway better get back to my |Christmas sewing, still sooo much to sew and almost no time!!!!

A bit of ......

Sass? Class? either way the new Phoebe Dress from Rebecca Page is stunning!!!!!
I have gorgeous Miss Holly modelling for me again but she has grown up a little bit since her Pretty Pink photo shoot

The Phoebe Party Dress is FREE and comes with a couple of options.
If you want even more options you can buy the add-on pack, the options with that purchase is almost endless!!!!!

I chose the modesty panel option from the free version

I used stretch mesh for the centre modesty panel and the rest of the dress is a quilting cotton, I used Poplin for the lining

I went with an exposed zipper rather than an invisible zipper
For two reasons
1. I hate invisible zipper, I am not good at putting them in
2. It gave the back a bit of flashiness

I ended up drafting the skirt myself, it is a simple circle skirt, with horsehair braid.

I wish I had taken a photo of the inside because it is where this dress really shines. The bodice is made using the burrito roll method so that there are no exposed seams. It is such a professional finish, I was really impressed!!!!

This was one of my favourite photos of the Phoebe Party Dress because it looks just as cute with a pair of sneakers as it does with high heels 💓

Twas The Night Before Christmas

Well I guess Christmas came early in our house lol, seeing as it's only November.
One of the greatest things about Christmas is the anticipation from the children the night before.
Our youngest is 10 now and I'm trying to squeeze out as much child like Christmas joy as I possibly can!
With that in mind I made him a new pair of P.Js to get ready for the big night

The pattern is from Rebecca Page. It's called The Family PJs.

It comes with lots of options

Master D is wearing long pants with a short sleeved shirt.
MD has Autism and he has a few quirks, like being very fussy about what he will wear, especially to bed! He absolutely loves Star Wars though so I knew I was onto a winner when I picked the fabric.
Thank goodness Spotlight were having a sale.

Took a bit to convince him to a photo shoot in them. I ended up bribing him with Lego (Star Wars of course)
He loves them so much that he has worn them every night this month. I am one happy mummy :)

This pattern doesn't just come in kids though it also has a mens and a ladies version, so I made up the ladies for my Adorable Adara.

AAs set is shorts with a short sleeved top. I choose a couple of added options for this set.

I used piping for the collar (don't stress the pattern comes with a tutorial) and a pocket.

AA was also thrilled about getting her photo taken hahahaha

There you have it, at least 2 of my kids are ready for the night before Christmas.

You can grab this pattern while it's on sale using my affiliate link below

(you can also get a free sleep mask pattern when you buy the bundle)

Zoe Zip Pouches and my favourite photo spot

Remember that fabulous Stella coat I made my daughter? well I had a few scraps left over so when I saw the new Zoe Zip Pouches from Rebecca Page I knew I now had some fabulous matching accessories

Here is the full selection of sizes
XL, L, M, S, XS
With so many to choose from you will always be able to pick the perfect size

The Medium is a great clutch size

The Xtra Small is good for keys or coins

The small is perfect if you just want to carry your phone
The Large is more handbag size and the Xtra Large makes a great laptop case.

Now while I love my new Zoe Zip Pouches, I also love my new photo spot.

It is quite common for me to go down to the jetty on the local lake but I had been completely skipping the abandoned boat house.

It has this fantastic blue/aqua door

It has been abandoned because it keeps flooding. The flooding is bad for business but awesome for creating a rustic, bold back drop.

What makes it even better is if you set up at a slightly different angle (a 90 degree turn) you get the lake background.

All of this and a 10m walk to the jetty. How lucky am I!!!!

This weekend Rebecca Page are hosting a sew along for the Zoe Zip Pouches, so go grab the pattern while it's on sale!!!

Totally Stuffed

I fell madly in love with these gorgeous Stuffie animal patterns by Violet Field Threads
I am fairly sure I own almost all of them but today I want to show off 3.

Blushing Bunny, Fiona Fox and Dainty Deer

My Blushing Bunny is made from quilting cotton, with polar fleece for the tummy paws and tail

She comes with an elasticated slip dress and the cutest fur (polar fleece and satin) stole.

Her lashes are to die for and created with some brown hand embroidery thread.

Of course she can't be blushing bunny without some pink cheeks, made from pink homespun.

Dainty Deer is made with quilting cotton too.
She has a lovely simple skirt made from furnishing fabric, a halter neck top made from broderie anglaise.

Her flower crown was a cheat on my part. I picked it up for a couple of dollars at KMart.

Her Lashes are a little less showy, and are made from quilting cotton and attached using Visoflex

Fiona Fox is much like her sisters and is made from quilting cotton. Her body material was actually a fat flat I had in my stash. Another simple skirt and a bandana, make up the staples of her wardrobe.

The pattern for Fiona Fox also includes a knit headband. This one is made from some scrap lycra I had left over from lining a white leotard.

I really enjoy making dolls, I'm not 100% sure why they resonate with me so much. It certainly wasn't that didn't have any as a kid because I had my fair share. Perhaps it's just that I get to pick their outfits and they never complain :)

Stella

For close to a year now I have been working with Rebecca Page patterns. I started off pattern testing and am now a Brand Ambassador. Each month I sew a new pattern for them. This month was the Stella Coat
Adorable Adara volunteered to be my model for this one :)

The Stella is fully lined, has hidden buttons and a truck load of other features

Like a welt pockets and princess seams

The back of Stella is very full and I used the panel construction to do some colour blocking.
This was mostly because I didn't have enough of the floral print but it turned out awesome!

It has a high low hem, which makes AA's legs look a little longer

While AA likes the look of the coat open, during winter it's better off buttoned up and in these pictures we added a cowl scarf, making it very cosy and warm.

As a little bit of extra wow this coat has mock sleeve buttons and a mock belt.

This is definitely one of the best garments I have ever sewn and as with almost all the Rebecca Page Patterns I learnt a lot of new skills.
If you would like to sew one up for yourself you can purchase the pattern through my affiliate link bellow and get 23% off for the next 6 days

If you do sew one up I would love to see it

Pretty Pink Holly

Another Frolic Collection Set by My Little Plumcake in PINK

This time I used a lace overlay on a peter pan collar

 Metal Snaps for the closures

and the lace overlay on the pockets too

Little Miss PPH looking like a gorgeous angel!

I loved this pattern so much I even made another set

Added a little lace to the armholes for something different again.
