I am going to show you a couple of patterns I got to test for "My Little Plumcake"
They are from the brand new and totally amazing "Frolic Collection"
I was lucky enough to test the shorts.
You guys remember Little O, right?
This pair is a size 10. I find as girls get older they start to get a bit more shape in their lower half. I made these using cotton sateen so the have a little stretch and should fit her for at least a couple of years.
Little J is growing up too
The pattern suggests cotton, so for this pair I used quilters cotton. The range with cotton is so much better than cotton sateen.
My favourite detail on these shorts is the pleats. They give the shorts some shape rather than looking like pjs.
The curved hem and pockets help too.
I managed to sew these up in less than hour each, which I was totally thrilled about.
Seeing as they were such a quick sew I decided to make matching Jackets.
I went with the cotton sateen again with this one as older girls change shape in the top half too lol.
I really love in the tutorial for the jacket that the designer leaves it upto you where you would like the buttons. For Little O's jacket I went with the middle to help give her a little shape and I used a statement button to draw focus.
I couldn't leave Little J without a jacket
Little J's jacket has a statement button too but this one is at the top. It allows her to show off her sequined top (store bought but still cute)
I tried to keep it fun and girly by adding the contrasting pockets with some lace.
The jacket is fully lined so no itchy, annoying seams :)
The other feature I love is the 3/4 sleeve with the split. Making it easy to "frolic" in lol
These 2 girls are such great little models. Thank you Little O & Little J.
