Fallen off the face off the earth

I know its been ages since I wrote but things have been sooooo busy.
I have decided to home school our 4th child Jack. It is very rewarding but also very time consuming.
I have managed to find some time to sew.
So now its time for show and tell :)

Lets start with Kate. She did it again she made me a lovely and practical gift

A pot holder

She did a great job but it made my long 2 hand pot holder look even worse than it already did. You guessed it I had to make me a new one :)
I went down to Spotlight and picked up some matching fabric. I didn't have any insulbright so I got clever and just decided to recover the one I had. I bleached it first so it wouldn't smell lol.

It wasn't too difficult.
Took me about an hour and while its not perfect it looks heaps better and works perfectly :)

Onto clothes
I really want to go to the Craft show coming up at Rosehill, but the budget is tight so I have to fund the trip myself :(
Simple Simon & Co posted this tutorial to make a skirt. So I made one.

I changed it just a little, for example When I did the bottom piece I made it a circle first then sewed it on. I also made a removable flower pin.

Very cute very easy.
It can be worn on the skirt or

on a shirt
or you could attach it to a headband, you get the picture.
Well anyway I posted it on Facebook and a friend asked me to make 2 for her granddaughters. Now I at least have enough money to get there and get in. Now I have to raise spending money lol.

So Kate and I are holding a little workshop where we will show the group how to make these zippered purses.

Its next Monday so wish me luck :)
